Urgent Tyre question

Hi Guy's

My z4M has failed its mot because of two dodgy tyres, as in they are damaged. I've ordered a set of Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta's from mytyres.com. I have stock M wheels, the tyre sizes I have ordered are :- 255/35 18 (rear) and 225/40 18 (front)

Will these be ok? I stupidly didn't look at the tyres on my car at the moment which are 255/40 18 and 225/45 18

You've ordered a lower profile so while they will fit they will reduce the gearing of the car and for any speed make the engine run slightly faster. It will of course accelerate a little faster.

They will also be a little harsher as you've taken some sidewall out.

Your new tyres will be almost exactly 1" smaller than the old ones :thumbsdown:

You may not notice the above much.

I'd put a call in and get the correct tyres.

Hey thanks for the quick reply The problem is mytyres sent me shipping confirmation yesterday with a tracking number so they have left the mytyres site now I could kick myself!!

Run some numbers yourself in any of the tyre calculators.

Not much I can offer then if they have shipped, other than call anyway and see if they will take them back and exchange plus costs if indeed they have really shipped yet.
