URGENT: Ruby Black owners

On the verge of buying a Ruby Black Z4 Roadster today, but just did a HPI and the car is showing as red.

However, I understand this is the norm for Ruby Black cars. All other details match, car is tidy and the owner seems an honest chap.

Can other Ruby Black owners confirm? I would be eternally grateful!!

It's been talked about before, the DVLA obviously see ruby as being the primary colour so red is on the log book.
 
I've searched around and it does seem it's a common occurrence for Ruby Black... odd! Thanks for the reassurance.
 
Just out of interest, is it possible for DVLA to correct this without them noting it as a colour change.... which wouldn't really help resale! Anyone tried this?
 
Don't think colour changes can be tracked anyway, so I suppose in theory it would be OK to notify them.

You oust be the first owner on here to think they had ruby black only to find its black sapphire.

Couldnt all you Ruby Black owners just get a confirmation email from the DVLA and include with your other documents when you come to sell? Or print out this thread.
