urgent door handle problem

Hi all,
I was opening my zed this morning (2003 3.0i) and my drivers side door handle came off in my hand. i have read all the guides on the forum to reattach it but cannot get the 2x plastic guides/clips on the bottom of the handle to hook in?

Im really struggling? any ideas will be grateful.Is it a tight fit??
