Urgent advice - runflats or not. Staple in tyre!

Ordered some FK452's from Camskill today at about 3pm, delivery tomorrow, all for £330! Then another £80 fitting
Damn, I paid £348 delivered for 4 x FK452s a few weeks ago. But my fitting is costing me £50 in total including the bloke coming out to my house to fit them, so not all bad. When I called a few local national chain outlets they all quoted £17.50-£20 per wheel - makes me wonder about price fixing...

All this talk of run flats though got me thinking that they must put extra strain on the car's suspension and may be the cause of my car being diagnosed with a broken rear coil spring? Makes you wonder as others seem to have also had this problem at low miles.
Does indeed make you wonder. But I think it's mainly just a crap quality of spring - IIRC it's affected M models and Alpina's too? (both of which run with non-RFTs).

YES!! They'll be on the car this time tomo.

Also - has everyone notified there insurance companies when they've done the same?

IMO this is a must otherwise they may refuse to pay if you have an accident, my insurance company (esure) are happy for non run flats and no extra premium.

I rang mine this morning (Norwich Union) and they didn't have tyres down as a mod to declare.

None of the ones I asked when getting quotes cared either.

I wonder which ones actually do, or if this is some myth because some foreign call centre operator hears different to what you say (the S Asian person on my call thought I meant a wheel mod at first, until I said it was just a tyre feature but all other load/speed ratings were met or exceeded)

CJ,
£20 fitting per wheel is expensive, but they are in the village where I live, which makes life easy, and they tend to be pretty good... might have a ring around though... longer term want to just get a machine for fitting them myself to save money :D
Really looking forward to just getting them on now and going for a drive in some 5 degC+ dry weather... I've pretty much driven around in rain, snow or freezing conditions since I got the car, or had only had it a few days when I had conditions where I could enjoy it more...!
