Upgrading speakers - especially the rear, behind the headrest ones

So I have the base speaker setup.

I fixed the bluetooth problem and now I'm ready for upgrading the speakers.
I bought for really cheap the OEM subwoofers and mounting hardware. And now I'm looking for amp, mid and tweeters.

Obviously I did my initial google search and what I found is I should focus only on the door speakers. Alight... but I wonder.

Isn't a rear speaker a good thing when driving with the roof open? Yes - I know that the stage might be weird etc. But when the exhaust is screaming, the wind is buffeting etc. And having a simple speaker close to my head could be a good idea?

And two additional speakers isn't that much of a cost.

I've not experienced a car with the rear speakers, so possibly take with a pinch of salt, etc. I fitted the door speakers to my 2.5i thinking they might help a bit but not expecting miracles. Turns out it made a massive difference, went from having to welly the volume right up to being able to have it at a moderate volume with the roof off. Taking phone calls suddenly became easy too :driving:

You could always upgrade the door speakers and then add the rear speakers afterwards. I've not had the bulkhead apart so I don't know what's involved in swapping the cubbies to speakers, the door speakers are pretty easy to add.
