Any ideas on the fastest, cheapest and best way to unlock and iPhone 5 currently locked to EE?

If you had the original contract, phone EE and they will unlock it for free after 6 months of ownership.

Back to EE; really? I don't and have never had a contract with them. Just bought the phone second hand and its locked to their network.

What about these types of services?

Seem to get good reviews but has anybody actually used them here?

I've used those type of services for other phones, but i've always unlocked iPhones through the original providers or bought direct from Apple. Can the original owner not get it unlocked?

Just asked the seller that very same question

I used the people in your link https://www.officialiphoneunlock.co.uk/mobile/ but cost 30 quid which I added to asking price of the phone, wasn't impressed with how long it took as it was over a week.

Cheers for the advice Tim. Good to know.

O2 and Voda unlocked my family's phones in the summer prior to going to Malaysia. Cost nowt. They also quoted about 10 days - but O2 did it in a couple of hours and Voda took about 2 days. One of the issues with iPhones is that Apple's database needs to be updated, and I'd rather my provider did it in case anything goes wrong. If it does they can just give me a new phone. Maybe :D

Thanks gents. Think I might well do that first and call EE. See what they can sort out and at what price.
