Uneven exhaust height

I have just swapped my 330 cab fro a 2008 Z4M Roadster, Silver Grey with Champagne interior. Loving the car other than the 3 points I probably got bringing it back from the dealers.

I noticed last night that the 2 exhausts are at different heights, one is quite close tothe bumper, the other is a good inch lower. Are these easy to adjsut to get them even?

Cheers

Justin

Welcome to the Forum - sorry to hear about the *** :P

As for the exhaust - thought they should be even..... take it you checked the vehicle before you made the purchase :?

Thanks, didn't notice on the inspection before driving away. It was only when I was stood at the end of the drive looking back at the car when I could see the difference. I am sure it is only an adjustment that is needed, but interested to hear whether it is a common problem/brackets bending etc.

Not common at all, perhaps it was replaced at some point. I've heard of aftermarket ones needing adjustment when not fitted correctly so it can be done.

The previous owner obviously reversed into something, the brakets bend quite easily to avoid damage to the silencers (speaking fromn recent experience  ). Yoou have to remore rear bumper and diffusor to get to it though and put the car on a bridge, but otherwise its an easy fix.

deffinately have a go at that dealer and get him to fix it.

Might have had an aftermarket exhaust at some point, when I went back to oem mine was the same.

Loosened two bracket bolts and two bolts on centre section, wiggled it around. Used a car jack to hold in correct place once balanced with other side and tightened all the bolts.

Job done, took about 30 mins, undertray needs to come off for access.

Thanks, all sorted today. My specialist removed the bolts which attach the back box to the middle pipes, repositioned and tightened with new bolts. It is prefect now, so no need to worry about bent brackets etc.

Hello VroomM.

The undertray is this black thermo plastic thing that looks like a diffusor right?

I'm asking as I killed mine and bought a ASC CF one and wondering whether I'll need the original behind too?
