Unable to pair phone

Hey all, I’ve tried the instructions as per the e86 telephone Manual and also looked on the forum for solutions.

I’ve just bought an e86. The bluetooth was working with previous owners phone when I went to view the car and never bothered to check if I could pair my phone as I assumed it would be pretty easy to pair.

I held the pair button down in the central cubby space, but the screen didn’t change or react at all (including keeping ignition at 0, then moving to 1 and so forth.

When I tap telephone on the dash screen, I only get SEARCHING coming up. And nothing else changes. Tried various lengths of time holding pair button.

The car also doesn’t seem to appear in my iPhone when I go to the bluetooth menu.

I’m pretty tech orientated so pretty certain I’m doing everything right.

Any suggestion appreciated. Attached pictures of screen. Car defo has bluetooth as I’ve checked the VIN, and previous opener used it while I was in the car.

It took me ages to get the flippin thing into pairing mode when I tried and I think from memory I had to just delete the old phones first. I'll try find my post on the subject.

I can't find the instructions for removing the old phones yet though. The key I think is it should display Bluetooth pairing rather than searching. There was definitely a knack to it though and key position etc
