Unable to lower the hood from the remote!?

Preface lift doesn't have remote drop feature.

Will need a gaptech

That's not correct mate, it just needs activating, same for raising it too!... First thing I did when I got mine, although it's very flaky and fitted a Gaptech to make it easier, one touch is also nice.

what software do i need to reprogramme ,as mine doesn't lower from the key ?

Whatever the BMW specialists use, but I imagine some forum members have it too via OBD port.

Up / Down is via the key by holding down the lock / unlock button.

Speak to this guy, he an auto electronic engineer, he really knows he's stuff.

He reprogrammed my stock module to open the roof free of charge, I only went to him to get my central locking fixed.

You can send him your module in the post if your not nearby.

According to Autotech Telford my 2003 can be programmed so the hood lowers by the key. This was pointed out to me on other threads on here. Some people went to Pete I believe at autotech to have it done.

I got quoted £40 to do it along with some other bits I can activate at the same time.

Although I've just realised he will probably need to plug into your OBD
