UK's best and worst!

I'm sorry to say I quite liked my Morris Marina at the time...Well, it was all I had and at least it was better than the Escort of the day, and not named after a porn mag (apparently) like other Fords. :)

Allegro, spelling chaps, All-aggro I think you'll find. Fiat Multipla - first prototyped by the Ant Hill Mob. :D

No mention of the TVR Griffith for most beautiful? Won a Design Council award apparently. And seriously scary  .

I think Wikepedia sum up the Marina rather well :poke:

The model has been widely identified as symptomatic of the problems facing the industry at that time, with poor build quality, handling likened to a "skip on wheels" and outdated design. The 1980 replacement for the Marina, the closely related Ital, received similar criticism. The Marina has been described as one of the worst cars of all time, although it was one of the most popular cars in Britain throughout its production life.

was there not an add saying the Marina was faster than a merc 0-60 or something :?
will try and find.

Can't argue with any of that (I was broke at the time). Just that a lot of cars were as bad at the time but don't get remembered. Eg Talbot Alpine. The Escort of the day (@ 78) was better designed but no better made, less well, even. Not nostalgic for those days thanks very much.
