LH raced alonso and Räikkönen in his first season, alonso in the same car. he then won his 1st WC in his 2nd season on the last lap on the last race. the years following his team delivered him a grade B car so he took a leap of faith and moved to merc, his 2nd season winning the WAC on the last race. he is currently leading the 2015 WC.... how dull is that? :roll:

i really dont get all the LH haters or the 'hasnt really drive yet' or 'its gone too well for lewis' comments. did anyone count the DNF from last years season?

Schumacher.... Well it was a different era especially when you factor in the last forever tyres. Schumacher WC titles were also won in 'the best car' for most of the seasons he won, he also had the team help in terms of the number 2 driver. If he didnt have either of these he would have no issues in taking other drivers so he could win WC's, anyone recall the d.hill incident...?

rejoice in the fact we have a English double WC, hopefully on the way to his 3rd. If anyone doesnt deserve media attention it would be vettel and those 4 WC's he won in the best car with a weak webber

Agree with you ranski however just a point on Schumacher if I might, he did make a few 'questionable' moves and descisions in racing and qualifying definitely but he had a massive input on building Ferrari back up to winning ways through technical input and the after race de-briefs and in between race testing, he often didn't leave until the early hours, went to get pizza's for the team, and was back at circuit after only a few hours kip. I remember his last ever race for Ferrari, he was still de-briefing until around 11pm and hours after all the other drivers had gone off to parties, home etc, he could've just got out of the car, taken his ovvies off and jumped in his plane and gone home and it's this commitment and dedication to the team and sport that got him to where he was, I doubt there'll ever be another driver so dedicated.

Not having a pop in any way ranski but it's often overlooked at just how hard he worked at his trade.

lewis imho has that bit extra required to be a multi wc winner. i think often too he had a very raw deal from the stewards for minor race incidents that others got away with. almost to the point of ," he cant be world champ yet , hes too young," or, "he's not experienced enough." even now ,there is talk of slowing him down to make things more even, from cry baby christian horner,... he didnt seem to mind when nothing could touch the red bull during the vettel winning years. lewis is great driver , a very nice guy fromn avery nice supportive family.fair but determind, I dont think many drivers would blatantly drive into another car as schumacher, did more than once. there is a world of difference between racing agressively and downright cheating.

Did you work in the F1 circle by any chance John? If so tell us more! I remember seeing the Eddie Irvine interview Sky F1 did not so long ago and he mentioned that on the technical side of things Schumacher hadn't a clue and was actually very poor with setting his car up and giving feedback to his engineers. His advantage was being able to take a car and drive it further to the limit than anyone else....according to Eddie anyway! If you've not seen it it's well worth a watch, can probably find it on YouTube now, Legends of F1 - Eddie Irvine, interviewed by Steve Rider.

No just been an F1 fan for donkeys years Andy. Irvine's just bitter as he couldn't get near Shumacher... :lol:

His did a book years ago called Eddie Irvine, life in the fast lane, it's a good read, he mentions partying as much as the racing!

It's just stuff I've read and listened to over the years about Schumacher tbh, Jean todt did an in depth interview on him and spoke of his dedication etc a while back, I get a different view on him to you but i'll stand corrected.
