Tyres - Quick Advice pls

My car (Z4MC) is in for its MOT and I have just been told its all passed apart from needing a new rear Tyre and the other is close to needing changing as well.

Problem is, they are saying they can only get hold of Continentals with the 99Y rating at short notice @ £170 per corner fitted.

As I don't have the car with me to check the tyre size, is 255/40/18 the correct size for original 224's?

1. Are these tyres any good?
2. Is the price ok?
3. How long do i have for a re-test if I need to take it away for some other tyres? Is it next working day?
4. The car is currently on Vreds, which I don't mind. So if I could take it away I would look at the same again or maybe Michelin Pilot

Correct size (for 224Ms on a Z4M) is 255/40r18, and there's no need for 99XL rating - anything with/above the OE (92 IIRC) rating will be fine.

Can't believe they can't get almost any tyre at short-ish notice. If you don't need it today, then simply order online for delivery tomorrow - price is about the same as the online price for a Michelin SuperSport, but you'll pay less for a Goodyear F1A 3, Continental SC5P or Vred Vorti.

Retail you'll obviously pay more.

Thanks

Not bad thanks mate, are you ok? How's the Eventuri?

I'm still on here reading but don't post a great deal.

Should be in my new house by October so as soon as I'm settled in I'll start the Z4 replacement hunt.
