Tyres chosen...at last

After much pondering the car is booked in to be re-shod with Falken 452 235/40 and 265/35 18 all round to replace the Conti M3s. The rears are shot after the Andy Walsh day and although the fronts have 4mm left they have experienced so much lateral wear on the Walshy day :driving: that the tread is worn horizontally and its causing the most awful vibration through the steering at motorway speed. As the Falkens cost the same for 4 as 2 Conti M3's do for just the rear I am going all out. Will keep informed of progress.

Speedo will be around 2.5% too fast according to the tire calculators. When a car is optioned with larger rims does BMW adjust the speedo?
Last thing: is this something an insurer would be needing to know about: no change in wheel but a change in tire size from oem?

No, because The profile is thinner on larger rims so balances out.

And speedos over-read by a good 5%+ anyway so a slightly larger circumference will make it more accurate

A quick update. Tyres going on Monday due to work pressures but have been delivered by Camskill for £429 for all 4. Wi feedback on tyres but so far top marks to Camskill.

Tyres on and they feel good. Checked the rear springs whilst it was jacked up and they look like new so thats reassuring. Should get a 1000 miles done in the next couple of weeks and will see but for the money the initial feel is fine and so far for £470 fitted they seem the bargain of the year.
