Tyres 225/45/R18 255/40/R18 - Z43.0i

Hi all,

I'm about to replace my RFT with non RFT and I'm wondering can I fit 225/45/R18 front, 255/40/R18 rear in a normal Z4 3.0i SE or this is stupid question

The tyres will not fit on a Z3 3.0i as the rears will rub on arches.
I have had a look at prices and can supply a whole range of tyres at the correct size of 225/40/18 fronts and 255/35/18 rears. These range from Kuhmo KU39 at 72.95 + VAT upto OEM Bridgestone RE050 at £111.00 + VAT. These prices are supply only and doesnt include carriage, however the cost for 4 tyres is £12.50 + VAT.

You can and they will fit just fine. However, you're going to end up with a 3.6% increase (23mm) in front and a 4% increase (25mm) in rear diameter. As a result your car will be 12mm higher off the road and the speedo will under-read your speed, so you'll be speeding and not know it.

In my experience, (and I've done this) you'll get no rubbing on the arches unless your wheels are attached using spacers.
