Tyre wear

My tyres have worn unevenly,the rears replaced last year were good tred except the very inside were bald. Now the fronts are completely the opposite worn down all on the outside. Has anyone else experienced this,do I need to get the alignments done.

I had the same issue at the rear. I can't remember where the fronts were worn. However the rears were much worse. Replaced them last summer with michelins and did an alignment and after 6000 miles they look like new.

Unfortunately, this is fairly typical of tire wears in BMWs. The inner wear on the rears are fairly easily rectified with an alignment - just needs a bit of "toe-in" to correct it. The fronts are not as simple, however, since there isn't anything much that can be done to adjust the camber and adding tad bit of "toe-out" to correct for the tire wear will cause to car to be "darty". But who knows, you may simply have too much toe-in on the fronts and not enough on the rears.
