Tyre Sizes

Apologies as I can't seem to find an answer on this one, are most people running these sizes for their E85/6M? When I put my reg into the tyre companies it shows me the below:

Front sizes

225/40/18/W88

Rear sizes

255/35/18/W90

However since I bought the car many years ago it is running 225/45/18 on the front and 255/40/18 on the rear (running standard 224 style alloys). I've been happy / fine with the size I'm running, is the suggested size what others are running?

Thanks

225/45 front and 255/40 rear are the OE sizes for the M models. (I'm guessing you had a typo moment on your rears)!

225/40 front and 255/35 are the sizes non-Ms had when fitted with staggered 18" wheels.

Appreciate your quick reply - I did indeed have a typo!

Great, I'll get a new set ordered, I've found a set of Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 which I was struggling to find.

I had a new pair of rears fitted just over a month ago and went for 265/40s for a bit more rim protection as a 255 on a 9J rim seems a little stretched to me.

The bonus is it also made the speedo a bit more accurate!

265/40r18 is what I run on mine too…mainly because when I wanted Michelin Supersports they weren’t available in 255/40r18, and I’ve stuck to the slightly wider size.

Mine is lowered a little on Bilstein B16 PSS10, but they only rub in 2 places (Foxhole & Tiergarten compressions at the Nurburgring at 120mph+).
