Tyre removal ftom bmw 108 wheel

Hi

If I remove the spokes from the wheel, can the tyre be removed without the spokes in place? Or would it buckles the barrel?
 
I've no idea, but that's a risk I really wouldn't want to take! :eek:

Surely it would be just as easy to get the tyre removed before taking the centre out of the wheel?
 
So they need refurbishment and the quotes so far are ridiculous, I was hoping I can take it apart but don't have the tools to take off the tyre but the refurbers do
 
I'd see if I could find a tyre place who would be willing to whip the tyre off.

My usual tyre place swapped a tyre from one rim to another for £18 in 2022 which didn't seem dear. Or maybe one of the fitters might do it for a tenner!
 
You can buy tyre levers for around £14; you need two to do it yourself. However, removing the star section can be a huge pain. If a bolt head is rounded, you can spend ages drilling it off. A dead blow hammer might be needed to split the wheel. Just buy a set of one-piece alloys—your pocket will be happier!
