Tyre question on E89

Could be shortly changing from E85 to E89, which I know a few of you have done. One of the first things I did on my Zed was change the tyres to non run flats, What is the opinion on the new zed and the tyres it comes with, is there the same rush to ditch the RF's?

The E89's I drove were much better on the run-flats than the E85 was on it's stock Bridgestones...

Have you driven one? Guess you should try it first before making up your mind about changing.

I had an E85 with 17" runflats (didn't find the ride an issue) & now have an E89 with 19" & generally the ride is better so I would guess that on smaller wheels it would be better still?

On smooth roads they are okay, but over any bumps or pot holes we found them very harsh and detracted from the driving experience on 19" rims. We switched to Michelin PSS after three weeks, which transformed the ride and handling, we wouldn't ever go back to RFTs.

I found the 19s on the demo I tested to be absolutely fine and no worse than the 18s I have now. The ride can be a little harsh and choppy on really bad roads but doesn't bother me and runflats just provide peace of mind than standing at the side of the road staring at a flat :)

I changed from an E85 to E89 both with 18 wheels. If I had been on the forum when I had the E 85 and known the difference non RF's could make I would definitely have changed to the non RF's. The ride was awful unless going fast on smoth roads. The E89 also has RF's but the ride is miles better - it is a little choppy on rough surfaces but I'm in no rush to change out of the RF's.

My last car was a 135i coupe ( god how I miss that one...) and I changed to non run-flats after about 4/5 months which made quite a big difference, however the zed on 18" run flat Bridgestones rides even better, so I'm in no rush to change this time, and the peace of mind is comforting

My car with 17 rft, soon change them as it felt in the wet they were trying to pull me into the oncoming traffic.
Goodyear asymmetrics are great now

This almost reads like a runflat-appreciation thread - never thought I'd see the day! I do agree though, I have no intentions of swapping mine out.

They have certainly improved - I will stick with them at change time!
