Tyre Pressures

I have been reading various references to the ideal tyre pressures on Z4's.

My model, from the information on the driver's door jamb, states 2.0 bar front and 2.2 bar rear, equating to 29 psi front and 32 psi rear. However, I presume this relates to the OEM run flats orginally fitted to my car.

Using my car's registration number linked to the Experian web-site it is recommended that my pressures for 18" wheels, 225/40 front and 255/35 rear should be considerably higher i.e. 2.3 bar front and 2.7 bar rear, equating to 33 psi font and 39 psi rear. Currently I have GoodyearEagle F1 Assymetic 2 non-run flats fitted.

Currently my pressures are set to the OEM recommended ratings i.e. 2.0 bar front and 2.2 bar rear.

I wish to run pressures that give a comfort ride, not increase my fuel consumption and give consistent wear to the tyres.

What would you recommend?
 
mine are set to 30psi front and 33 back this was done when it went in for a service running non rf on 18" rims! seems like mine are really low!
 
I would ring/e-mail the place that fitted the F1s and ask them for the correct pressures based on the load rating difference between the F1s and your OEM run flats. You will probably need to tell them that the OEM pressures are 29/32psi. You could work this out yourself (google it), but it might be easier just to call on a bit of after-sales support.

Once you have the reference pressures, you can have a play with them +/- a couple of PSI to find the best balance of the above. The only tricky one is consistent wear, but that is really difficult to gauge anyway, due to the time it takes to see any unevenness and also the effect of wheel geometry.
 
I have staggered 18 inch 108s with non-runflat tyres and run 36 rear, 33 front. Works for me :thumbsup:

I did as you suggested and the tyre company who supplied and fitted suggested I run at the manufacturer's recommended pressures, 29/32psi, so I will monitor it at regular intervals. They said it makes no difference if they are runflats or non-runflats.
