Tyre ordering / fitting

Silly newbie question:

I'm about to order some new tyres for my zed, these will be non RFTs to replace the stock RFTs currently on the tread limit.

I've found the ones I want at a reasonable price on Camskill. Can someone advise how best to organise getting these delivered/fitted?

I'm not sure where to get them delivered as not sure how i could transport 4 tyres in a two seater convertable with a small boot. Could i get them delivered directly to a garage?

And who should I use for fitting? Would any garage do the job? SHould i steer clear of anyone in particular, e.g. kwik fit etc? What should i look for in a fitter? And how best could i find one?

Finally, any recommendations for a fitter near Banstead in Surrey?

Thanks

Mike

You need to speak to some tyre fitters before ordering to be sure they will fit tyres not supplied by them. They might also price match anyway.

srhutch is right, a lot of them get proper grumpy if they don't supply them. Also worth considering for anyone reading this (although not applicable in this case) is a lot of fitters won't touch tyres that are not new.

I ordered from lovetyres this time but next time I think I'll see if I can get a fitter to price match, it's far easier.

Camskill will deliver to your house. Then you have to get them fitted - maybe £15 a wheel, or a bit cheaper if you shop around.
With Blackcircles you can order on line and they will deliver to your local fitting centre, all inclusive. But they can be dearer than Camskills, depending on the tyre.

I put Toyo Proxes (T1 Sport) on mine a last year. Very impressed, (from Camskill I think).

Try a company called grippy as well they come to your house with the tyres and was cheaper than camskill plus fitting at £12 per tyre for me last year. Took great care of my wheels and i could sit back with a bacon sandwich whilst i was waiting.

Right, ordered Vredstein Ultrac Sessantas from Camskill for £437 delivered, then got them fitted at a local Tyre fitters for £12 each. So new set of decent tyres for under £500 all in - doesn't seem too bad at all!

Noticed an improvement in the ride already, looking forward to a longer trip to fully enjoy no longer having run flats!

Have just done a 150 mile round trip and can safely say tat switching to non run flats was the best thing I've ever done. Apart from buying the zed in the first place of course. It feels like a different car!

All I need now is some goo.
