Tyre help...

Chaps, could one of you with 2009/2010 cars check the front tyre wear for me, let me know what you have inner and outer on the front in terms of tread, is it even, slightly worn on the inner etc?

I've checked mine this morning as I know I'm not far off needing a new pair on the front. Its worn perhaps 1 to 2mm more on the inner, not much, but I can measure it, so I'm wondering if this is normal or whether to get it into the stealers for an alignment. Given its RWD I figure its supposed to be slightly toe-in, and with inner wear its either slight camber on the front, or its gone slightly toe-out. Its nearly 3 years old now and I've encountered some nasty potholes on our lovely UK roads so it wouldn't surprise me if I needed alignment but just wanted to see what others have...

Cheers..

My E91 had the same wear pattern and the dealer said it was normal due to the camber. Would assume the E89 is the same? Only done 300 miles so far so can't be sure lol :D

I know there's extensive camber issues on the rears of these, just didn't expect anything on the front. However its not major, like I say 1-2 mm but I'm wondering what others see.. whether its normal and I can save myself some money on alignment, or whether it does indeed need doing. These cars are money pits when it comes to tyres!

When I had mine in at Birds to try and diagnose my handling fault, I was told that that it is quite common for many of the newer BMWs on run flats to get inner tyre wear. Said it tended to always be a bit more pronounced if the car was on RFTs rather than standard tyres. Not sure if that is true, just passing on what I was told in case it helps!
