Tyre Dilemna!

General consensus on this forum seems to be that for affordable non-rft performance rubber you should consider either:

Falken fk 452 - now replaced by the fk453, i have not read any reviews on these new ones yet but I use the 452s on the road at the moment and other than a bit more tyre noise grip levels are more than enough for my z4Mc and 330d touring. Quite impressive in fact. I understand the 453 are quieter so will be trying them next. Got a full set from camskil for the z for around 600 quid.

Or

Vredestein ultrac sesenta - another forum favourite gets rave reviews but not tried them personally. Again I think they have a new version out called the vorti iirc

thanks for all feedback.

im thinking if i stick with RFT - its gonna b conti sport.

Non-rft then Goodyear assymetric 1/2 or michelin pS3

I have just put a full set of falkens 96 quid each fitted from black circle.com the handling and ride are fantastic compared with the rft

First time with these tyres on any car & i can highly recommend the vredestein's
just go with what you can afford & you are happy with

Fitted the Goodyear F1 A2 and was super pleased with them, however they are quite soft so wear rate isn't brilliant but that's why they are super sticky

Have a look http://camskill.co.uk/offers.php
I would change to non rft`s the differance is masssive, but it`s the fronts that make the improvment.Get them for the rear & in a few months change the fronts. My car drives like a new car when i binned the bridgestone rft`s.Now running falken 452`s great tyres for the money, never used budget tyres in my life but very happy even after 6k miles.

I've just had a set of 4 x falken 452s on for the past 15K, good grip in wet and dry and the ride was much better (less harsh) than RF's. It's got to be said that after 15K the rears were very low, but just replaced with the new 453s. As previously said, they are meant to be quieter than 452s and initially I would agree. Gonna do 250 miles tomorrow (also with my retro cruise control fitted today) so will report back! :driving: got them off etyres delivered and fitted for 320 for the pair.
