tyre deflating

are the 108 rims particulaly bad for warping or going out of shape. one of my rears seems to have developed a habit of going down. i'

ve scrabbled around it and cant see/feel any obvious nails etc (its something i got used to doing on another car when i lived next to a building site and collected things like that on a weekly basis) but havnt taken the weel off yet partly as i cant get the jack under.

i had some 17s a while back that were a sod using 40 profile tryes to seal. any slight sorrosion on the rim and they would be flat. so i wondered if this was a simialr problem.

The 108's, are sometimes prone to corrosion, on the inner part of the rim, where the tyre seals etc.
This, is bacause, from manufacture - they are machined on the inner rim and then clear lacquered.. Over time, it's the lacquer that can sometimes break down over time unfortunatley..
Or, potentially - you might have a flat spot on the inner rim, which in this colder weather, might allow air to escape and the tyre deflates over time..

The best thing, might be to take the rim to you local tyre dealer and ask them to put the wheel onto their wheel balancing machine.
This will eliminate or confirm the potential flat spot problem.
Then if that proves OK, - I would advise asking the tyre dealer, to immerse the wheel, with inflated tyre on, into a water bath. Immersing the rim 100%, may well pinpoint if it's leaking air from where the the tyre beads and seals onto the wheel rim.. Or it maypinpoint if you have a slow puncture from the tyre..
