Tyre and Fuel Choices

Hi,

Now I have my z4 I am looking to improve the ride quality, and I guess that means ditching the run-flats? Is there a noticeable difference when replacing the run-flats with conventional tyres? Could I get some recommendations for a good replacement?

"Don't use anything other than Shell V-Power" is what I was told when I drove the car away. Is that solid advice, or do you use any good quality fuel?

For a Z4M any premium 98/99 RON super-unleaded is fine, but (except in emergencies) I tend to use Shell V-Power+, Tesco Momentum 99, Esso Supreme 99...and used to use the GreenEnergy 99 RON from Costco until it was downgraded to 97 RON.

Not sure what the recommended is for a non-M - although the fuel label says something like 'Premium unleaded...95-98RON, min 91).

One thing is universally agreed upon, which is ditching the runflats will improve ride quality. Almost anything is better than the OEM Bridgestone Potenza, even bare rims .

It's well worth it. I'm pretty sure BMW recommended minimum 98RON whenever possible for the 3.0Si. That's what they recommend for my 330i with the same engine, and I usually use Momentum too.

Momentum is always much cheaper than the Shell and Esso premium fuels.
