Typical wear at 75k

Hi,

Had an inspection 1 service at 75k and they found a few things.

Front/rear bushes are worn/have play in then, as is some part where the steering connecting to the wheels.

Is this normal at 75k for these sorts of things to go wrong.

I think it's probably more age related than miles, but they are perishable items so more miles wont do them any good.
 
Yes, perishable items will start to go with mileage and age. Ultimately if your car hasnt been garaged all its life with low miles, these things will start to go. There have been reports from forum members of 2006/7 high mileage examples with bushes starting to wear...
 
I just had my Inspection 1 (last weeek), and there was NOTHING that required changing ... just oil and brake fluid. Mine does have very low kms (about 15,500km) ... so perhaps the above is more likely mileage related than age related.
 
Replaced front steering bushes at 70k miles on an 05 car...... so seems about right to me :)

The dealer I bought it off tried to screw me over and the vehicle was not that which was advertised. I have the option to return or take a partial refund so wanted to check that the recent inspection service results were not indication of something very wrong.
 
My inspection 1 found an oil leak, new vacuum pump required and new exhaust manifold - £1380 in total so i'd be thankful with just bushes, by the way mine was at 48k at this point!! Thankfully covered by the warranty i took out!
 
i had the front bushes done not long ago, i'm on nearly 90k now, i didn't mind the cost as the car felt a lot better afterwards. intact I will prob learn how to do it myself and change them over every 20k as the difference was like night and day, smoother drive less tram lining and less crashing over the bumps. Its when you pay about some £££ and then feel no difference in the drive that are the worst service items :driving:
 
Are you referring to the lolly pops on the suspension or the track rod ends please?
