Hey Guys,

Has anyone ever retrofitted a TV tuner to their Zed. If so is it just plug & play, can you use any BMW unit ie:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1999-2006-BMW-3-Series-E46-TV-Tuner-Module-OEM-6923268-/120868121105?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item1c244d2a11

The main reason i want one is to be able to fit a reversing camera.

Thanks in advance

Bear in mind that at that age it's probably going to be an analogue tuner, and won't get a signal in the UK in about a month!

Reversing camera???...your about 2 ft from the rear oof the car when your sat in it!!! i think the front is much harder to judge.....

I thought I was going to get some grief for that lol

To be honest, I think they're quite cool, but it's more of a necessity for my other half. I grunge every time she reverse parks & the space on the drive where I park the zed is fairly tight.

Would be nice to be able to play videos from my iPhone on the nav screen (I spend time parked in my car each day waiting for meetings).

If your after a 16:9 TV (analogue) module and TV in motion cable let me know as I maybe selling mine

Yes, it's plug and play. If you have prof nav, the TV option will appear on your menu.

Just make sure that the module is for widescreen, otherwise it will have an adverse effect on the rest of your display (menu/nav etc) and they will be condensed to.

The retrofit is an easy job, i've done it a couple of times. good luck!

Fitted to a forward facing thermal camera that would be so cool...
Night and fog driving from the Apache gunship style screen in the mid of the dash... 8) 8) 8)
