How easy is it to Retro Fit the TV Module?!

Also, theres loads of Modules on Ebay...Is there a particular one I need to be looking for as they all look the same!

Is there the wiring already in the car with Prof Sat Nav or do I need to buy it extra as the modules on ebay seem to be sold as just a module...

Thanks,
Tom

All the ones on eBay are analogue and useless in a years time.

Fitting it - I did look at doing it, is not a lot of work. Put the aerial around the rubber of the boot, works as well and is less work then then official location.

im in the process now, just bought a module.

most cheap ones will be analogue, check the post on here about the sat nav screen as i documented it on here..

i believe the loom is only £60 but i dont think that comes with the aerial stuff.. ive bought an analogue one but will swap to digital in a few months if im using it..

Andy, Let me know how this goes...To Be Honest with you I'm looking at getting a cheap set up to allow for the car to play DVD's through the Sat Nat Display more than anything...

Hey guys,

got a question, does it matter if the part number doesnt match with the one listed on realoem? All the tuners look the same but have different codes...is there a difference?

Regards,
Tom

different ages, but dont get an early one which won't be widescreen etc..

look at:

How about using a something like a Dension Gateway with a portable hard drive or ipod video, just an idea. Who wants to watch daytime TV in their car!! :P

you won't get anything on the oem screen without a tv module.. im assuming with that you'd mount the ipod somewhere high and the sound would come through the stereo.. usb stick compatibility with id3 is interesting though.

Sorry I was getting ahead of myself  Yea you need a TV tuner to view ipod video etc
but when analogue gets switched off it'll mean upgrading to freeview I presume, which currently is an expensive way to watch the Jeremy Kyle show!
Maybe its me but I've watched TV in the car errr....twice, in the last 5 years, mind you I stand when I piss.

Just purchased TV Module 65 50 8 375 127...

The module is listed in the list of tuners Andy listed, just wondering if it'll work with my Z4 LOL! Obviously too late if it doesnt work as I've paid for it now hahaha!!!

Anyways, what do I need to purchase now to get the item plugged into the car?! or are the cables all ready there?!

I belieive you will have to buy the wiring harness from here:

Beware t20lau has tried to sell the unit he purchased above on another forum and told me he removed it working from his Z4.

I think he has realised that he has purchased the wrong unit from eBay and tried to sell it on as working on another forum here:

http://www.zroadster.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=183930#183930

to say I'm not impressed is an understatement :x

OK jonttt - thanks for the heads up. Probably best if you and t20lau keep this discussion on zroadster or by pm until you resolve it, rather than spill into a personal argument here

ive just bought an old one too, but I'm pretty sure they should all work, as long as they're for MK IV units..

Then it's just the analogue (cheap) vs digital (£450) connundrum...

edit: just realised it's for a mki.. and confirmed mine is the right one
