TV Mod Advice

Hi

I've just bought a 2005 2.2 SE and was pleased to find that it had been fitted amongst loads of other things with the TV option. I realise that watching TV whilst driving would be dangerous but I would really like if my passenger could do so. It would be great to keep my wife or one of the kids occupied on longer journeys. Is there any way to stop the screen disabling while the car is moving? After all I could buy a portable DVD player from Argos and do it.

Any advice would be appreciated.

There are a few alternatives is you do some research, found this quickly

A few years back, I had a double-din dvd player that only worked when the car was parked.
After investigating for a while, I found that one of the leads sprouting from it was hooked into the handbrake light harness, meaning it was only getting voltage down in, when the handbrake was applied.
Moving this wire from the handbrake feed, to a constant 12v source allowed dvds to play regardless of if the car was in motion.

Having zero experience with the Z4 TV module, I've got no idea if it would work from the same basic trickery...?

I only know that on the X5, you can use software to do this and no cable is required. It is a pretty similar setup so might work.

However it's an analogue TV (iirc) so in a few months depending on where you live it will become useless anyway....
