Turn Off Seat Belt Beeper

Just in case anyone doesn’t want to wear their seatbelt when doing a tricky manoeuvre...(although I recommend you always should) you can turn the sound off by gently lifting the handbrake.

:D

No both sides.... as soon it starts beeping left the handbreak gently and the seatbelt sign in the dash will stay on.... and thats it...even when a passenger gets it it doesnt go off again...

And after you lift it you can put it back down again (on mine at least), just incase you didnt know :)

Handy information for any lady drivers as apparently their handbags set them off.

Procedure: Lift handbrake high enough to hold car from moving, preventing you from flying thru the windscreen because you're not wearing your seatbelt! :poke:

Handbag in floor or in the trunk/boot. I'd rather wear my seat belt and get hit with less force when that airbag deploys. I've been hit by a first generation air bag and it isn't fun. Newer ones don't deploy as hard if you have your seat belt on. I've never understood the urge to not wear them--kind of like those fellas that feel they shouldn't wear helmets when riding a motorcycle.

They do! :o Depends which one I use and how much crap I have in it though

It didnt work!

I had my handbag and 2 bottles of wine on the seat :P which set off the bleeper, but the handbrake trick didnt work! Oh no!

How much do you need to apply the handbrake? I did just a little bit so the light came on, then off again..

This is a serious issue!

Ah so not something to do while moving, if I had a brain I'd be dangerous. I'll have another go tomo, traffic never moves very fast round my way.
