What is their function and what is a special structure behind it if this functions as a kind of hatch?

Pity that the door pocket sits at a very uncomfortable height for me, and I ended up wearing a knee cushion to stop my leg aching after a track day. New seats with better thigh support solved that for me

Good to hear that a somewhat less good experience was also solved by you by placing other seats.
We do not have a long travel experience with the Z 4 yet. Hopefully that will come in 2025.
