Triple Turn Signal Activation

I was told by BMW service advisor today that triple turn signal is not available on my Zed. Is it true? The Owner's Manual does mention about its activation. Anyway, it will cost £40 for first setting change, and £15 for each additional change. I should have asked to make all changes when I bought it last year.

May I ask what is it?

You press the stalk briefly and the indicator flashes 3 times. I used to have it in my E60. You can turn it on/off in iDrive (I miss iDrive :( ).

That's expensive, even for a dealer. Mine is £40 and they programme as much as you want both acar and individual keys. I'm sure Indy's are even better value.

Ok, Its on all the newer BMs, never thought that was an option on the Z.

Yep it's available, I thought that all facelift cars had it turned on by default.

Not mine.

Are you sure it isn't hidden somewhere in the driver programming that you can do yourself ?

I would insist on a fixed price for as many changes as you want. As mentioned a local indy may be cheaper and they can do the remote roof close that most dealers seem to refuse to do.

My dealer also said the triple indicator flash wasn't available on my 2006M. I encouraged them to accept that is was and they were then able to activate. Actually a function I really like especially for motorway overtakes and slip road exits. Polite without having then cancel the indicators.

mines a 57 and i had to ahve it activated, its only the new models where you have the option through the i drive to do it yourself.

I wasnt charged for my personal settings being changed at BMW hungerford, it was in for something else though.

I will try to get it done for free when the car has Inspection 2 next time.

That's correct - it's available on Z4s and Z4Ms starting in 2006 models. The issue is that, for some odd reason, few dealers seem aware those cars have the feature.

ksher - anybody with an Autologic box can do this on your car.
If you fancy a drive, go and see Peter up in Telford at Autotech http://www.autotechperformance.co.uk/ - mention this site and he will charge you a small sum to review and programe many of the key/car options available on our zeds

Hi mate,

thought I would chip in.

I got my CDV removed and car fob programmed by Peter at autotech. I also wanted the triple signal. HOWEVER, as he was sifting through the autologic menus he could not find the option on my car.

Its a 2003 3.0i, it is not an option on mine, which is unfortunate. :(

Peter activated the 3 flash on mine.

Unfortunately a couple of other things got stuffed along the way, so I need a trip back. 8)

My holy grail will be to rid mine of the Seatbelt warning.

I had Triple Turn signal programmed when in for a service. Dealer charged £40. That was a flat rate for any changes of this type.

i had this done, but the dealer said it was set by using the computer button on the stalk, not by software programing.

Does anyone know how to do it then?
