Take it as a lesson learned without any pain Jamie
Whatever vehicle / tyres i have i always like to try them out on wet roads at a variety of speeds so not to be taken by surprise should you hit drenched roads
Living in Lancs you have to expect the wet stuff throughout the year so i like my rubber to cope in both dry & wet conditions
The Vred Sessantas are good all rounders , the Uni Rainsport 3s are epic & i recently fitted Hankook Icepts to our C Class & they've had a good test this last few days , not a quiver in the bends or ploughing through standing water at Mway speeds
A powerful rwd car & wide tyres meeting any amount of water on tarmac is always a recipe for accident

There was a 3 series smashed up and the wrong way round on the M621 this morning. Looks like he / she didn't take the conditions into account too.

Apologies wasn't meant to make it a warning about crashing thread, it was meant to be a Marlon esque thread showing the pics from a drive out to the lakes... Just was sharing the unfortunate news on the m3! All occupants were OK IIRC

My mate did exactly the same whilst driving his E92 M3 on the M25 a couple of weeks ago. Must be an M3 thing!

Love the first pic. Reminds me of the James bond DB5 image.

Great first photo Jamie

Where and how did the aquaplaning happen?

Cheers paul it was on the a590 before you get to newby bridge on that bit where it goes into a dual carriage way for only a few hundred yards but the northbound goes up high & the southbound goes lower?

Haha cheers Ben that's exactly what I was trying to replicate (badly)

Nice pics, thanks for posting. :D I hope they walked away from the M3.

Had a rep go past me, on the M74, in heavy rain. A mile or so later I hit a deep puddle and the car pulled hard left. Then I spotted his car smashed into the safety barrier. I stopped and he was fine. Take care.

Thanks guys submitted it to monthly pic thread :)

buzyg - no problem ! yep they did they were all walking around in shock :(

people seem to forget how to drive in heavy rain - most carry on as if it was in dry conditions

this was the hotel btw..
