Trip out with the camera

Seeing as it was a relatively nice day up north today, I decided I'd take my camera out with me this afternoon.
I've not taken any shots since I bought it, so I had myself a little photo-shoot!

I know how you all like Z-porn:

awesome car man! i saw you have a zhp knob. whats the purpose of changing the factory shift knob? I am a newbie so dont know much!
And how do you keep your wheels clean? Mine gets dirty in 3 days.. I think it has something to do with break dust with all the bmws.

Thanks,
Yep I use Autoglym Wheel Cleaner for the wheels. I tend to wash it weekly, to keep on top of it.
The ZHP is great, its much shorter and heavier than the standard shift - which makes gear changes a little smoother and less effort. Plus it feels great in the hand.
I would recommend one, they're a pretty cheap mod.

Thanks bud! I think I need to get off of my couch more and clean these damn wheels weekly not biweekly.
How easy is to install ZHP. Can you recommend a place to buy it? ebay? I am in US

Yeah, I sometimes feels that the shifting is not as smooth as other cars I have driven, so I would def. give it a try.
Thanks!

Nice looking Zed you got there,i was giving mine a bit of TLC yesterday and used AG wheel cleaner great results but read the info on the bottle it said " Don't use on split rims".So what is the best wheel cleaner to use :?
Another fan of the ZHP much better than the standard one

Tanish, have a look here:

I got mine from a dealer for a similar price. It's just a case off pulling the old one up really hard!! No twisting required. Then push the zhp on firmly.
There are some topics on here that talk about it in length. Mine was easy to get off

Redzedfour - good spot man. I didn't even think it would be an issue. I guess it must do weird s**t when it dries in the gaps...

Let me know if you find any recommendations on an alternative.

nice pics.

I tend to just wash my 108's with the same shampoo and then wax that i use on the body.

That's what they advise. Some of the other products, potentially including AG are acidic in nature, therefore causing a corrosive effect :)

AG is incredibly acidic... I've been using it on my 108s for over 2 years, and honestly I don't think it's done them any good at all...
It may be just the infamous corrosion of the 108s, but I'm inclined to believe that AG is just too harsh for the split rims.

They're in dire need of a refurb now, but I've just ordered some very cherry acid-free wheel cleaner. Will let everyone know how I get on with it.

normski, the car's looking fantastic

Darkman, I stopped off at Adlington Hall (North East Cheshire). There's some great country lanes and national speed roads round there. So yeah, great fun!

AG Clean wheels = now for use only on the GF's mx-5!

Nice pics - not too keen on the parrot installation location though ...

Yeah I was a bit dubious about the placement of the Parrot (fitted by previous owner) initially,

But it's actually quite good, as you can't see it when you're driving - as it's obscured by the steering wheel. But also easy to get to on the odd occasion i actually use it.

I would put it where I have my origin, on the right side in the corner. Perfect vision and not visible / obtrusive from anywhere really.

Errrr.... I know I'm a newbie to this forum, but resurrection of an eight year old thread just to blatantly plug a product as your first post is a bit poor form.

Pretty sure they're just looking for a back link under the keyword 'car care products' - even worse, if they knew anything about detailing they would know it is wash, polish then wax!

Like you said though - very poor form!
