Was planning having a quiet day with the family as I was working yesterday but the wee fella was away with his pals and Jan was on a mission with house stuff so decided to take myself away for an hour or two! :D

Not been on the full Mallaig run this year only the speed test bit at the start.

I think I can almost call the end of the tourist season this weekend as the roads where nice and quiet even though it was late afternoon before I left. :D

Road was great as ever but was a little more damaged in places than I remember last year.

So went for it on the way to Mallaig and stopped for a few pics on the way back with a wee detour at Camesdarroch along the coast as although is very, very twisty and blind it is gorgeous.

Here a few pics.

Totally agree but as long as you know it is coming up not so bad. Two places normally just before Glenfinnan for the narrow bridge and the Pentlandite further on.

Good fun road though with some good views.

Been a couple of years since we were last at Mallaig.
Never in a car though always on the bikes.
A few mates and myself done a round trip to Mallaig for the day, around 300 miles. Fairly heavy going on the bike, not the miles but the time.

Right car , right place for it :driving:
you have a great combo going on AS & look forward to more updates .

Few more pics.

You can see the road stretch on the approach to Mallaig on this pic.

That's all the pics I took.

Didn't make it up to Mallaig at all last year and looking doubtful for a run this year unfortunately......was always a favourite for a big day out on the bikes.......early start on a Sunday to miss all the day-trippers,fish & chips in Mallaig then home via Oban sometimes for early evening, pretty tired.
Had a good weekend camping on the coast near Morar with Scottish Elises and did the day trip to Rum another time to see Kinloch Castle.
West coast of Scotland is magical especially when the roads are quiet and the weather's "good"

Never mind you have an awesome road trip in what four days :D

Have a great trip and I can't wait to see your pics.

Cheers, leaving around 1am on Sunday to travel to Plymouth for the overnight ferry to Santander........wee bit sharp but I always find it an easier journey at night with quieter roads.
Mrs has " tidyed" my small digital camera away and can't remember where she put it.....doh!! That only leaves me the phone, which won't be very clear and she's planning on taking her full size camera kit but that's a bit clumsy for grabbing a quick snap........search is on for my pocket camera.
Gonna try and keep a log this year also of the journey, expenses, etc
Weather's looking good also, which is what we hoped for........extending our top down driving season.

if you follow that road round where you parked there's a house on the beach on your right i rented last year for 10days - epic place.

Yeah Jimmy the beach there is beautiful. Have walked on it in winter through snow and with temps hotter than abroad (just not very often!!)

Thanks Gareth. Loving the M. Still deciding on next weekends run. North or South. Fancy down past Oban but I think the wee man wants to go horse riding which means sedately (ish) North.
