Trickle-charge via cigarette lighter?

Can I trickle-charge my 2010 35iS via its cigarette lighter socket with a C-Teck, please?
Although the E85 socket stays permanently live, I 'think' the socket on the E89 powers off after about 15 minutes? If so, then the connection would break and no more charging would occur. Best method is via the under-bonnet connectors as then you remove any doubt regarding the effect on the IBS.

As enuff_zed points out for several reasons the cigar socket is not appropriate or valid..

Charging post in the engine bay is the only location ..do not charge battery directly whilst its connected to the car..

You want to charge the battery from a discharge (load) point ? Like, you’d put more energy in than you’re taking out ?

As long as the voltage is higher than the port, the electrickery will 'go in'.
But as said above, it's not a good idea for several reasons
