Treated myself - For a change..

Having spent Sunday evening, and a good deal of yesterday decluttering the garage, putting up some serious heavy duty shelving etc, I got an email from Costco around 4pm, telling me my "executive reward" was ready. As the reward is capped @ 2% of your annual spend excluding tobacco, I have 3 lots of exec cards and usually earn the £400 on each, nicely staggered throughout the year.

So I thought "sod it" and hot footed it in the van down to Costco..

Got myself one of these bad boys..

Ended up costing me £75 of "my own" money :D

BLOODY HELL this thing is heavy, almost 200kg for the 2 parts, and that's empty...

First thoughts, well it is VERY well made, and I'll have no trouble filling it and making even more space in the garage (man maths)

Anyone else got one? I would love a Snap On one, had a top box when I finished my spannering days, but seriously cannot justify the cost of their boxes. I do like the tools though, and am a bit of a magpie for them...

Now that's a tool box.

I "snook" it into the garage this morning before leaving for work, as needed the van, and more importantly before the wife spotted it :D

Mike

Very sensible, If she is anything like my wife she might never see it in there. Give you time to think of a little treat for her, then break the good news.

Treat....? no need to go to extremes!

Just get it in place, shake a bit of dust over it and then, if/when she notices it, come out with the old 'That thing? I've had it ages....' line

Yep, "got it in the sale darling, they were giving them away"
They constantly do it to us with their shoes/clothes so it's only fair

Yup, my thoughts exactly, anyway this is what the wife reposted on FB the other day...

So that's saved me £20 :D

Was just in Costco and saw these. Nice piece of kit.

I have the stainless steel version, but smaller.
Their stuff is so good compared to the Halfords and Internet tool suppliers kit.

Agree, I reckon the quality is on a par with Snap On, and I much prefer the black crackled finish.

I saw the BIG stainless one's last year (£700?) but didn't want one as it's something else to polish...

Lol, that's what my garage WAS like, also with a lot of stuff in boxes on the floor, the double garage now cleared to make it possible to work on the Zed with both doors wide open.

And those small side cutters at the bottom in 2nd pic, do you know the make/model? Had a set around 30 years ago that I "inherited" from work. Lent them out and never saw them again, would love another set as they are superb.. Plus I don't loan tools out any more..

Yep, they're the ones  I used them a lot when I worked in telecomms years ago :)

As long as it's the same colour as something you've cleared out, you'll be fine.

Apparently not inconspicuous enough, it's been spotted - just had "the" text...
