Transporting snowboard...

I know BMW do a ski/snowboard rack that goes on the boot (trunk) lid, but that requires the permanent edition of the IMO ugly rails to the car, which I really don't want to do...

The Zed is my only ride, so does anyone know of any non-permanent snowboard carrying devices for the Z4? Or am I going to have to resort to the passenger seat?

I had mine in the passenger seat the other day. Towel round the top to stop any scratches and then strap it in :)
The only problem is if theres two of you.
Surely you cant be transporting it regularly enough to start buying boot racks? Theres no Mountains in Manchester last time i looked  :D

Nope, but there is a brand new indoor snow slope

Ah yeah, I saw that a while ago, tsuiesque, that's an option... cheers :)

I use the passenger seat method myself, I may have to take a gander into that clamp thing mentioned

Wow, never noticed that was clamp on. Hmm 200 though, Think I'll just stick with a passenger seat and/or a beater car.

Hi,

How far are you way from the slope? The only reason i ask is if the Z's your only car and im guessing your not doing it that often why not get a taxi there?

I would only put it on the passengers seat never get a rack!

Also how long you been boarding? I understand giving a new place a go but unless your practicing tricks on certain nights none of these indoor slopes can compare with even a decent green run in a resort.

Im desperate to get out this season but we have decided to hold while the little one is too young to enjoy it. My Father-in-law is on his 6th ski holiday this season with one next week and 2 weeks left in March! thats 9 weeks since mid December.

Cheers

Hey, I'm not far from the slope. I Suppose I could always get a mate to pick me up on the way. Though I don't foresee I'll be going all that often, so the passenger seat is my best bet.

I do however need to get the board to Gatwick at the end of March (off to Meribel for a week... woohoo!), though I think I'll jump on the train. Again, I suppose the passenger seat will do ok then... as the mrs is staying here.

9 weeks in 1 season!? Lucky lucky man!

As far as me Mt Charleston isn't that far (about 30 min...less when i decide to do more than +15mph over the speed limit) it's no big deal for me atm as either i'll be alone, or someone (group of friends) will be going so we'll take a bigger vehicle. One of these days I'll fix my S10 and not have to worry about it....till then.
