Already posted in 'problems' but figured it might be more of a feature than a bug, so forgive me for reposting here...
I have a 6-speed manual 20i and have noticed that when I am decelerating there is a whining noise coming from somewhere around the transmission tunnel (at least I think so). Seems to be less pronounced in the higher gears, and disappears as soon as I put even light pressure on the loud pedal. I'm thinking it might be a bearing and am hoping it's propshaft rather than gearbox or diff. Car has done 50K miles.
Sound familiar to anyone?
[edit] Noticed today that the noise disappears when I dip the clutch. Does that suggest it is the clutch itself?
