so i was at the traffic lights today, and a nice car pulled beside me, i thought ooo, shall i ? i didnt look too closely or look over as I i didnt want to let on, i had no intention of being silly, just a bit of gentlemanly smart off the lights stuff, anyway i was listening to a bit of pink floyd ... anyway, turns out it was a big Tesla, which just glided silently away and left me thinking my handbrake was still on - ho hum.... :headbang:

Firstly............. good to hear from you, it's been too sensible on here lately. :D

Secondly, I'd rather take 5 seconds longer to get to 60 in a proper petrol guzzling, ecologically unsound, noisy piece of automotive art than ever be seen dead in a Tesla!
Well done for keeping the handbrake on, always have an excuse ready.

It's surprising how quickly even innoculous looking cars can get away from the lights as more and more people are buying EV's and that's their party piece.

i wonder how long it will be as the EV sales gather pace before we start seeing them on the side of the road - exhausted so to speak - bereft of life  too heavy to push out the way - can wait to see the AA work that out.....

Yes but he will have to plonk his butt down for 45 mins to charge while you take 5 to fill up, probably go 100 miles further as well and get there stress free :D

and as my old mucker gazza has explained many times - we are raping the planet for the materials to make EV batteries for the vehicles.

and for what purpose / fancy having a word with china while it happily pollutes the world while we wring our hands thinking it will make any difference over here ?

It doesn't matter what car you have, you'll always meet a quicker one!

Last year I went round a roundabout and saw an E60 5 Series join it behind me.

In the mirror it looked like an M-Sport and as I was out for some fun (while it was still allowed) I floored my Z4MC, but when it sailed past it became obvious it was an M5.

Still after we exchanged a thumbs-up I was just glad to have met a fellow enthusiast.
