Wouldn't of thought you could compare the two. Love the Z4 but the Merc is a beast....

I think that both the Z4 and C63 are tremendous cars in their own rights. The Z4 has the design edge, a wonderfully matched engine to the sublime DCT and a minimalist interior all housed in a cleverly designed, compact shell.

The C63 is well the C63. A precsion sledgehammer if there was ever such thing. Anyone that owns either one Is lucky to have such an automobile. The thing for me is the servicing issue where I live in Australia - too far for the BMW.

And the new C-Class interior looks sooo upmarket. Exterior looks solid too. Only problem its getting bigger and more expensive. The c63 507 over in Oz costs around $200k on the road fully optioned! Z4 35is is around $130k.

Yeah our government hates imported cars. The biggest killer is this stupid thing called luxury car tax: for every dollar over AU$60,316 you pay a 33% tax (that's on top of 10% GST). Then the state government will hit you with stamp duty (we have to pay that on all cars, even used) of 3+ %.

Grizzly, your comparison of BMW vs MB is pretty consistent with what I've heard of late. It is a shame and I hope BMW do get their act together. My business partner with a C63 AMG is very pleased with his and I don't believe has had any issues 6 months in.
