Traction Control

I recently replaced my RE050As with PS2 ZPs (E86, 18") and often when I put my foot down, even if it's from 50-70 on a dry motorway entrance, the traction control light starts flashing away. Having said that, the car doesn't feel like it is squirming when this happens.

Has anyone else had this problem? Is it possible the rims are spinning inside the tyres?

Thanks!

AFAIK, that's only an issue with high power 4x4s and dragsters that run extremely low pressures. The bead is actually stretched onto the rim and is difficult to dislodge by hand even when completely flat. If the tyres are sticker new, there still may be mould release compound on the tyres causing slippage. If one wheel slips a bit during straight travel, you may not feel the slip before the DSC system does. It can take 100 some miles to completely wear off the compound.

As bcworkz mentioned the problem is most likely mould release compound on the tires and that can take 100 to even 250 miles to completely wear off the surface layer of rubber on the tires.
