Traction control malfunction

This started happening this weekend. It happens about once every other day I drive the car now. What happens is I'm just driving normally, usually in a stright line or a gental turn, and the traction control light starts flashing and it kills power to th car. I cannot accelerate and I start slowing down. I have discovered that clutching in solves the problem. But what is the problem exactly? How can this be fixed? Thanks.

Does turning the traction control off make any difference? I am not generally much of a fan of electronannies and one that misbehaves would not give me warm fuzzies.

These systems are so deeply embedded into the car's electronics and braking systems there is not a lot we can typically fix ourselves.

I haven't tried that, I don't drive with it off. I don't think I'll be able to fix it myself, but I'm currious if anyone knows wha the fix is. Reflash?

Hopefully I'll soon get a copy of Carsoft... If I do I'll take it with me next time so we can see if there's any problem with you DSC...
Somthing that happens on Z3s it's the ABS sensors in the wheel hubs that get dirty and the car has trouble reading the spead of each wheel. But when that happenes usually the ABS light goes off as well... Sorry I can't be much help
