Dstc in z4 is a bit hysteric and reacts to quick and too often.
Thats why in normal driving on dry roads i use dtc setting, which can be dangerous in the rain - reacts late and hard.
In deep snow dstc sometimes doesnt allow you to even start moving.
I sometimes think that the Z is far more stable with all systems turned off - because dtc brakes the inner wheel in the corner car sometimes goes abit more sideways before it will brake both rear wheels.
During autoX and track driving Z proves to be very stable and well balanced, set even more on understeering then oversteering.

Yea,soiled undercrackers is a regular occurence,perhaps thats just my age ??
The car just doesnt feel "right" with DSC on,its unpredictable in what its going to do..
I pulled out of the petrol station the other day,DSC on and the car still went sideways in the road.. Not a problem,but then the car tries to sort it out instead of yourself and thats where the trouble starts...

i find the way it cuts all power can be really annoying too.
there are a couple of junclions in liverpool where you have to be a little quick and its really easy on a damp day like at the mo to end up stranded in the middle of the road for that split second while it all sorts out.
it would be nice to be able to cut it back a little as i like the rearuance that i wont end up arse about tit. when i did my westy i ended up getting it road legal in december and that caught me out a few times at junctions, howver you soon got to feel that point where traction was about to go and could hold it there easilly. i guess there is no difference in this car really
it porbable just me tho getting used to it as my old focus didnt have traction so you just got used to spinning a wheel slighlty.
I agree with this totally, I switch my traction off all the time now it holds the car back when accelerating when it's on & I actually find it more sure footed with it off strangely!Z4M-2006 said:
I just don't understand why the M has a locking diff & yet they still put traction control on it? My old 200sx had a LSD & the TVR had one but they didn't have nancy traction control as well.
