Tracker make your own idea !!!!

Hi all

I would like a insurance agent view on this also.

I have a old IPhone, thinking of permanently wiring it in to my z4, and configuring it to find my iPhone ( but really z4 ) hence the location if stolen can be immediately traced live using I cloud.

Would a insurance company accept this as a tracker device ?

People's thoughts ?

They have a list of Thatcham approved devices they'll accept and anything else is not going to be accepted. Based on the info here that a lot of insurance companies seem to charge more for having one, I question their value on anything other than an extremely specialist or collectible car.

A well-known way of giving yourself peace-of-mind, unless it's easily found by a thief...so it needs to be very well hidden. Insurance companies won't accept it, and unless you have a highly desirable (ie nickable) car, they won't ask for a Tracker anyway. Even with a Tracker, you generally won't get a discount.

I have Trackers for my own peace of mind as I do have rare, desirable cars, and I get no insurance rebate as a result of their presence, so don't bother unless you're really bothered about it.
