Hi again lads

Anyone know of a decent & relativiely cheap track in the South for a day in the Z?

Ideally it wouldn't be too busy & i dont want to thrash her / race

North Devon is quite good going by the number of chavs in souped up micra's I see bombing around!!!!

I have never done a track day, but perhaps have a poke round the Brands Hatch web site ?

That's a pic taken at Silverstone Classic last year by a BMWCC photographer during the 'parade lap'... Which was actually at least half a lap of major hooning, and then a big queue waiting to get off the track. I am driving - if you look closely you can see my son's head in the passenger side. It is a very bad line round that corner

Pretty cool to drive around Silverstone...does this happen every year?

It is happening again this year - there's a thread in the Meets section, and I think the special offer (infield parking with all the other Zs, effectively 2 for 1 entry) has been extended. The lap is at the end of the day this time, though not fussed about that. Check it out !

Bedford Autodrome is very newbie friendly with masses of run off area if it all goes wrong.

I've done the Palmersport days there a few times courtesy of suppliers at work. You'd be hard pushed to hit anything there - I had a few trips across the grass at quite a range of knots in various very quick machinery lol

If you want a cheap track day with lots of run off, your best bet would be an airfield day. This is especially so if you have limited or no previous track experience and want to find the car's limits before trying a "proper" track. Motorsport Events (http://www.motorsport-events.com) run very safe days with an open pit lane and use tracks all over the south of England - have a look at Abingdon if you don't want to travel too far from London
