TP function and RDS display not working properly

Hi!

I have a new Z4 Coupe and am having problems with the radio – and the dealer is not much help. It's a 'Business' radio with the display on the sat nav screen.

Firstly, the FM reception is poor – far fewer strong signals come up on the list than in my wife's car.

Secondly, the station name flashes up for a few seconds and is then replaced by the frequency (I have set the name option).

Thirdly, the traffic reports cut in for a few seconds then fade away.

Possibly, but not necessarily, all these problems are linked.

Would be very, very grateful for some expert advice.

If you press the Info button, what options do you have ticked?

You might have a problem with the aerial not being plugged in properly, you'd need to remove the vents (5min job but very tricky until you know how, see the AUX DIY thread & it's easy) then the stereo (2 screws) to check this.

If the radio reception is poor from the aerial, this might be why the traffic is cutting.
