Toyo Proxes

Hello :D

Not really a zed question this one...

Mrs gannet hit a pothole earlier this evening and wrote off the tyre :( slight damage to the alloy also but not sure if the wheel is ok yet...

anyway just looking around for a replacement tyre and ideally would like to keep the same make etc as was fitted. Car is a 2009 (59 reg) Mazda 2 Sport riding on 16" Wheels...

Tyre Size required is: 195/45R16 80W
Make etc is: Toyo Proxes R31

I can find plenty of tyres the right size but no Proxes R31 :(

Ive tried the usual culprits such as kwit-fit, national, blackcircles and mytyres with no luck :(

Any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance :D

PS car looks cr*p with the space saver on

I think this is what you're looking for at Camskill.

Thanks for that dgm

not ideal having to get it delivered then arrange fitting but good to know :D

can get it here : TyreFitDirect anyone used them before? Also not sure what they would do if the wheel is buckled :?

If I cant get the same tyre guess Ill have to get a different one... but is it best if mixing across axles to fit the mismatch to the front or back on a front drive car :?

Im confused - things should be so simple :headbang:

haveyou tried one of the breaker sights, e.g.

I found a couple of alloys for my daughters ford KA (after some serious curbing), came complete with two tyres still attached (6mm tread) they were immaculate.

EDIT: oops mis read it somewhere, thought you were looking for the alloy as well.

Thanks for that Rusty

not sure if we need a wheel yet or not - Ill find out tomorrow. Wheel is marked but dont know if it is buckled yet.

Price of a new wheel from Mazda is £120 inclusive so not *too* bad - esp compared to BMW wheels :o

Almost as cheap as getting it repaired.... now why can't BMW be like that in terms of price!

Camskill are a good company to deal with. Just get them to deliver the tyre to the tyre fitter of your choice and they will charge you £10 max to fit it. I do this all the time, trust me it couldn't be simpler.

thanks dgm, unfortunately they don't have stock of the tyre - and 4-6 weeks :o

must be more expensive down here - Watling Tyres would charge £15 to fit it...

back to the drawing board

My next suggestion is to try Elite Tyres. Your tyre isn't showing in stock but it's worth trying them to see if they can get it in a reasonable time scale. £15 is a laughable price to fit a tyre by the way.

your search engine must be better than mine

Ill give them a try tomorrow

Thinking if I cant get the right one, Ill get two of a different brand and or model and keep the other good one for when we need to replace one of the rears.

Either way I will know more tomorrow.

Few - Wheel is ok :D

and in the interests of speed now have 2 new Avon ZV5's on the front and a spare Toyo in the boot!

Alignment was shot to pieces though so they fixed that too :D

Thanks to everyone for their pointers etc
