Toyo Proxes T1Rs

I fitted them to my Z1 as a gamble. They were so good, I took the GSD3's off my M5 and fitted T1R's to that too. The grip is exceptional, especially in the wet. I would have fitted them to my 116i, but I have a new insurer and they wouldn't let me.
I cannot recommend them highly enough. They are outstanding (and I'm comparing them to Michelin PS2's, Goodyear GSD3's, Bridgestone SO3's ... )

I had T1-R on an older car and imho, they were dire next to the GSD3 and T1-S with respect to feel. All the grip was there, you just couldn't use it without having blind faith it was there.
I'm generally surprised as I find them about the same as the Bridgestone OEM's longitudinally, and a bit softer on breakaway, just they don't actually ever grab the steering and throw you around laterally (good thing)... the only think I've not tried is outright lateral grip to breakaway steady state, but they feel pretty good.
Only slight downside is a slight loss of sharpness to steering input, but I don't drive around stabbing at corners with quick changes of lock anyway... :?
What pressures are you using again? And are they 18's?
What part of them are you not happy with out of curiosity?

Hmmm same as me pretty much, I'm doing 31/31.5...
I guess if your not keen then thats all that matters really. I never rated T1-R's on my last two cars, but others raved about them (I actually sold them up after just 500 miles as I found them that bad)...
I think the danger is that the T1-R is also (from what I am told) a tyre that takes a long time to really bed in, and from what I've seen with the FK452's, they seem to need that too (were a bit floaty and wishy washy at first, but mine seemed to settle after a week and 350mls)
You would be gutted to have T1-R's and not like them any more and be down even more cash and settle for something you are not happy with
Good luck with what you do though, but since the F452's are worn now, why not give them another couple of weeks? It won't cost you any more at least, and make sure you are 100% before swapping

but i prefer Michelin PS2's and by only driving the same car with a differnet set of tyres "loaned" put on it for the test!
i have it on good authority the 452's are very good as well, but have no practical expirence!

Hehe, every car seems to be different in this respect.
And then after that, everyones personal preferences are different too.
I found the FK452 not too bad to bed in, I did some scrubby driving to get them worn in quickly after a day of taking it easy. In my old Peugeot 306 I'd just understeer around and hang the tail around on my way back from the tyre centre and they'd be worn in within 10 miles...
I think all we can do is just go off recommendation, but the 452's are, imho, a good tyre next to the OEM Bridgestone on 18" staggered setup Z4's...
Very similar feel, just not jolty and half as expensive... it'll just be the tyre life that is the unknown factor so far
I don't like the T1r.. very slippy on wet.. in dry the car doesn't break as with the DS3 (V pattern) or the new assimetrical.
After 2k miles with them I not happy, I still preferring Federal 595 or ventus V12.
In cold conditions the T1R needs time to get temperature.. so is not the proper tyre to use on motorways.
0 to 10 I give them a 6... because are cheap tyres.
