Torque wrench setting for engine strut brace?

Just bought a BMW engine strut brace. It bolts onto the two suspension places either side of the engine.

Does anybody know the torque wrench setting for engine strut brace?

I don't want to over or under-tighten them once I fit it.

Thanks.

I fitted mine with a normal socket set as I don't have a torque wrench.

Just stopped turning when I felt resistance... :?

IIRC someone posted a piece from (Ithink ) w/s manual

The boltsare special and there is something about torquing up then another quarter turn .
Sorry not specific but worth checking as it isn't just a matter of torquing up .
I will post link if I can find it
Found it anyone advise how to post a pdf

Thanks guys, just looked at it out the box, anyone have a picture showing how it should look fitted as it could curve to front or back?

Think I saw a thread on here that said.....do not over tighten, because that's a whole world of snapped suspension bolt trouble.

...suggest wait until you have the answer before fitting..

borrowed this pic from siftah - http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=20378

my advice - you don't need to make these nuts ultra tight - if anything go slightly under the torque rating - I used the torque rating and snapped the bolt in half in the strut tower, had to remove wheel / suspension to replace. :headbang: anyways youv'e been warned!

just put the socket on the nut and pinch them up slowly if the creaking is evident you will feel the slack on the thread 1/4 turn maybe.

i just torqed mine up to the right setting and they are fine.

Thanks for posting pics guys.

Quick question, I did this today, but I found that when the brace was on, there was not as much thread left for the nut (nut that came with brace) to be turned that many times i.e. the thread only comes about half way up the inside of the nut. I would have felt happier if the thread had come at least level with the top of the nut; anyone else find this?

Hey that's not fair. I'm going to have to find a BMW Motorsport sticker that is heat proof ;)

Going to have to take mine down to the nearest Timpsons and get 'Z4-Forum' engraved on it! :P

I got my stickers made on eBay. Just asked some Chinese seller that was selling BMW M-power stickers. 8)

I haven't got a cross brace BUT I would certainly be worried if the nuts were only partially filled by the bolts not good engineering practice in my opinion .
Especially if nuts are lock nuts .
