Torque and Torque Angle

The TIS states that the reinforcement plate under the gearbox should be torqued to 59NM with a Torque Angle of 90 degrees. Does this simply mean that I progressively nip up the 8 bolts, then use my torque wrench to tighten to 59NM (in stages?) and then do up each bolt another quarter of a turn (not with the torque wrench obviously)? Any advice much appreciated as always. Thanks.
 
Yes, first you thighten them normally by hand, then torque all at 59Nm and then all at 90deg. Not necessary to do in stages.
But I would only do this with new bolts (TIS says every time to use new bolts).
These are stretch bolts and a 2nd or 3rd time the 90deg is more torque. So I use generally about 45 deg; I dont change to new bolts every time I take my car apart (as that happens quite often...).
Maybe if your bolts are still very fresh you can do the 90deg.

What you also can do is after torqueing it to 59Nm, is setting your torque wrench to 80Nm (which is a general torque setting for m10x1,25 bolts in 10,9 grade), and degree tighten them to 45degrees. If your torque wrench hasnt snapped by then (so not reached 80Nm yet), keep turning until you get to 80Nm.
